~An unexpected guest, or mabe two?~

Anna slipped on a snuggly fitting shirt and a knee length skirt, like her usual attire but obviously in different colours and types. Instead of putting on high heels like she usually did she put on some wannabe Uggs. They were warmer and more comfortable. Anna ran to her car where she was soaked by the downpour.

Knocking on Erik's door she waited and looked around, the apartment building was quiet and it was slightly weird. But of course there was nothing wrong... with the apartment building. She wanted to apologize to Erik for having to be a substitute, she just wanted him and nothing else. She could get lost with him for days and not need 'space' as most people wanted.

Anna let herself get led away to the couch beside the fire, she settled down on it and spread her small self across it. Being a tad bit cold she tried to get warm by stretching out, she soon warmed and dried up and her hair flung up shorter than normal because of the wetness. The towel had really helped her dry up a bit more.

"Really pouring hey?"

Anna smiled and nodded, but her eyes narrowed as a sarcastic smile arose on his face. Not liking what might be coming she relaxed further into the sofa's warmth.

"So, you where subbing today?"

Anna's narrowed eyes slowly released and went back to normal, but they were replaced with a worried frown.

"I'm sorry... was it that bad?"

She felt like crying, she had made him unhappy. She put her face in her hands and exhaled, maybe she should quit, she had enough money anyways.

"Want anythign to drink?"

Anna shook her head that was still in her hands, she had no idea that she had made him feel awkward. What she did know was that she couldn't quit, she was the sub and sub's didn't give way to another sub. Anna couldn't do that to the school.

Anna let him comfort her, she snuggled into him a bit more liking how he felt... warm was it? Sighing she let him talk her into being a little less sad, it worked but still she didn't like to be an inconvenience... on anyone which is exactly why she had moved away from her parents. She turned her solemn green eyes on him to answer his first statement which hadn't bought her.

"Hey, don't worry about it. It wasn't that bad, and if I'm that desprate to see you, I'll act out so I can have a detention after school."

"Well that won't help you will it. Which is what I'm saying."

Anna reasoned in her small voice, she didn't want to stop his education, but then she realised- What about going to college? For him not her.

"So, there isn't any other teachers hittin' on you is there? Tell them your boyfriend wil have a chat with them. But, make sure you say I'm a UFC fighter or a blackbelt in karate, you know, to scare 'em of a bit."

Anna smiled and laughed half heartedly, he did know how to make her happier she leaned back on the sofa again.

"Let them try and hit on me."

Anna retorted with more joyful tone, and she was right- just let them try to even flirt with her.

"Men don't neccessarily have to protect their girls."

Anna didn't reply to Erik's first statement but she just stared up at him, love in her eyes. Caring and affection were also found in them, her emerald green eyes weren't as jewel like as usual they were soft. Anna wanted the best for Erik but she didn't want to pull him down with her. His next comment made her smile.

"I know, but let them think what they must."

Anna didn't have a funny comment in her at the moment.

"Christmas? It's barely past summer Erik."

Anna laughed affectionately, sometimes men could be so ahead of everything.

Anna's sadness was all gone now, she wouldn't bring it up anymore after these last comments. He should keep on going to school, and it wouldn't get in their relationships way. Anna decided on it herself she'd make him keep going to school and she'd keep on substituting.

"Yeah... I just seems liek so much time had gone by."

Anna nodded in agreement, it had seemed like it yet it had only been like a month almost... weird.

"Yeah it does."

Her voice answered back to him, not a trace of sad in it.

"Listen, cheer up okay? Everyhitn will be fine. I can always get schooling online like I have for the past few years or so. It's just as good, but without the annoyying classmates and good looking teachers. Well, there is only one good looking sub I know around here. I think you know her pretty well too."

"Very funny. But you won't go back to online classes, it's not as good as a proper school. That's all I'm going to say on this subject."

Anna finished, and her eyes searched Erik, for what? Nothing, but they flicked around him and then around the room.

"At least the weather has let up."

Anna almost replied to his suggestion for a walk before he looked outside and looked as if he was blaming himself again she sighed and turned around to sit right beside him. She put her head on his shoulder and tried to calm him down.

"You have to stop blaming yourself about that. It wasn't your fault, could have happened to anyone driving down that road."

She hoped that he would calm down but maybe he wouldn't, maybe it just wouldn't work. But she sure hoped it did, she didn't want it to be awkward between them.
