Iris's dreams stopped, her bizzare world ended and shattered into a million peices before receding into blackness. Iris was alone in the dark, waiting for some dream to start, but none ever did come, which was weird for her. Iris hadn't experienced the outside world for a while and now she knew how precious life was- whatever life had become for her. Iris didn't have any conscious thoughts or any at all. Somehow she realised that she had to open her eyes, with a lot of effort her eyes finally flickered open before sagging closed again.
It was so tiring, but after a few moments of silence and threatening white dots in her vision, Iris had properly awoken. Her muscles screamed with the effort of propping herself up, not having been used in so many months they had wasted away. Iris was skinnier than usual and her skin clung to all of her features and showed her as gaunt and pale. Her black hair fell around her taut face and masked the tightness in her cheeks.
"I'm back,"
Iris whispered into the empty room without adding her next thought into it, after all it was a bit shakey.
But what to?

Doctor Sarah Roberts raced into the room she noticed a sound when she walked by, and when she looked down at the bed Iris's eyes where open,"Iris..are you really awake, can you understand me?", she looked at her, she needed to know if her brain was perfectly fine after that fall.

Iris's eyes turned to Sarah's, grey ice blue eyes that had never shown anything but the truth in them. Iris nodded to Sarah, not bothering to speak, she was too tired.

Dr. Roberts nodded,"Thats good your brain seems good, now do you feel fine, you dont have to speak you can nod",She looked at Iris, she was so young to be like this, hurt and with no family visits.
