`Personality;;
Jason is what you would describe as a rough-and-tumble kinda guy. He loves the outdoors, whether it is snowboarding, skim boarding, surfing, four wheeling, horseback riding, rock climbing, and backpacking. He is kind of quiet when he isn't with his friends, but not because he is shy; he simply doesn't have that much to say and he never was one to keep talking about stupid nonsense that nobody cares about. He always seems to have a silly grin on his face and he is generally a cool dude to be around.
Occasionally, he tends to get nervous, especially around new places. When nervous, he will tend to just stand tense to a side and not say anything. People who do not know him tend to avoid him then because the working jaw and the clenching fists tend to make them think he is angry. It doesn't help much that he is so tall and fairly well toned from outdoor activities. People who do know him well will understand his nervousness but still stay away from him; he snaps easily when he is in that mood. Otherwise he is perfectly fine and rarely has bouts of uncontrollable anger that not even he understands.
Although rough and tumble, Chad can also be very gentle and tends to stay out of fights unless their is no way to avoid it. It isn't that he is weak, he just doesn't think it is necessary to have the reputation of a fighter; it is far more effective to only occasionally snap than to snap all the time, like his father does.
`Physical Description;;
At 6'4" and 190 lb, Chad usually intimidates people until they get to know him and realize he would have a hard time even hurting a fly. His hair is light to dark brown and his eyes are deep set and angled so that he has an almost wounded expression on his face, even when he isn't feeling down. His eyes are usually glittering with some sort of emotion but it is often difficult to tell which one. While he doesn't exactly wear his heart on his sleeve; sometimes that light can be defined as anger, mischievousness, pain, or sometimes something else that he doesn't often like to show.
His clothes consist of ripped up jeans, a plain leather belt, and a loose T-shirt unless he is around the house where he usually just wears his pants. When out he usually has on hiking boots or flip flops, depending on the weather or what he is doing. He does not usually do anything with his hair, finding guys who care too much about their hair girly.
Chad usually walks tall and upright, loping in almost an uncaring gait wherever he goes. Contrary to his size, he is surprisingly graceful at the sports that require balance, such as surfing or water boarding and horse back riding. He isn't the fastest runner, but he makes up for it in brute strength.
`History;;
Chad's mother died in a car accident when Chad was three years old. His father, who had never been a man to socialize in the first place, withdrew even more in himself in his grief. Because he was so young, Chad didn't really remember his mother and although he was sad seeing his friends grow up with mothers, he was perfectly fine taking care of himself and kind of preferred it that way.
When he was ten, Chad's father took him on his first wolf hunt. Chad had been very excited; he was too young to realize it then but his father had been making attempts up to that point to make Chad feel like he was part of a family even though his mother was gone. But when he finally had the gun in his hands and the wolf in his sights, something gripped Chad and he found himself unable to shoot the wolf. His father, cursing, had grabbed the gun and fired at the wolf but it had already heard the commotion and took off; limping because of the bullet that nicked its thigh.
His father spoke no more of the event after that, but no longer tried to make them seem like a family any more. It was like he finally gave up and accepted that without his wife they would never be a family. Chad and his father began to solely communicate with each other only through the note pad by the telephone and otherwise rarely saw each other. By the time he was seventeen, Chad was almost fully independent and even began taking care of his father who did not even bother stocking the fridge or sleeping unless forced. Now slightly lonely but still a pretty awesome guy, Chad is just waiting to see what happens next.
