Anna Georgia Simone Black lashes framed solemn emerald green eyes, crystal teardrops decorating them cruelly. Fiery red hair, usually full of life, now hung limp around a pale, gorgeous face. Eyelids fluttered closed, the only colour in her face were her full, red lips and even they were drawn out and pale. Motherly arms lay weak and useless over her deflated stomach, skin clinging harshly to her thin bones. Not a sound was uttered, cries came from afar in other areas, but not here. Soon this place would be behind her, and she would not stay a moment longer than she had to, it would be blunt torture.
Darkness started to swallow the small town as she looked out the window, pining for her absent love. Frightening prospects entered her confused mind, worrying the woman further. He would not be coming home today, but she still watched like a faithful companion for his arrival. Tightness in her abdomen didn't phase her until it persisted and she doubled over in pain. Sinking into the nearest couch, a sharp gasp erupted from her red lips. Fear racked her weak body as another contraction took her. Forcing herself up, she carried her burden to the nearest phone and hysterically notified the hospital of what was going on. She was not daft, she knew what was going on, but she wished she didn't.
The paramedics operating the ambulance tried to calm her down, even though she just laid on the stretcher and stayed quiet. No matter, the paramedics knew that she was scared. Her mind was silent for once, but this didn't help, it left room for distress in her troubled mind. The tightness in her stomach continued, and it lasted longer each time, noticing this the paramedics took her right to the delivery room. Hours of terrible pain came next, and thats what scared Anna the most. Being alone frightened her less, but still considerably, but both things happened anyway. Everything just felt wrong, this was not how she had wanted it to happen, Erik was supposed to be here. Whatever was keeping him away, was probably important, he wouldn't do this to her intentionally... would he?
She was still weak, but the doctors passed her off as healthy nevertheless. So Anna made her way out of the hospital and into the parking lot, where her taxi was waiting for her. Nothing could console her, she doubted even Erik could, but he wasn't here. She climbed into the cab and directed the driver, she was empty handed, and empty hearted. Always sacrifices, for life you had to make sacrifices and Anna knew that all to well, like her own name. Anna sighed as she looked up at the hospital, before the driver pulled out and drove her away.
